Students can apply to co-op in one of two ways; directly from high school or after beginning a degree program at Carleton. If a student is admitted to co-op from high school, their grades will be reviewed two terms to one year prior to their first work term to ensure they continue to meet the academic requirements after their 1st or 2nd year of study.
In addition to the graduation requirements of the University, a candidate for the degree of Bachelor of Journalism and Humanities with Honours must present: a Major CGPA of at least 7.00, a grade of C or higher in each Reporting course, a grade of C- or higher in each other Journalism course, an overall CGPA of 7.00 or higher.
Apply concepts, theories, and methods of social science and humanities disciplines to the study of issues in the region Develop the ability to apply conceptual and methodological approaches from various disciplines to the analysis of the region and its interconnectedness with the wider world.
Students in this intensive Journalism and Humanities program from Carleton University spend about 40 per cent of their time taking core journalism courses. They receive professional training in writing and reporting, professional ethics and media law, and learn the skills appropriate to newspaper, radio, television and new media journalism.

Kinkora Regional High School Final exams start today and run to Jan. 31. Feb. 3 is a turn-around day with no classes, and Feb. 4 is the first day of the second semester.
